Sunday, April 12, 2009 – Hebrews 10:19-25

Alan Knox | April 12th, 2009

Today, I taught from Hebrews 10:19-25. In this passage, the author tells us two things that we have as a result of the work of Christ, that is, the death, burial, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus Christ. Then, he tells us three ways that we should respond to the work of Christ.

Because of the death, burial, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus Christ we have 1) confidence to enter the presence of God (10:19-20) and 2) Jesus Christ as our high priest (10:21).

Also, in response to death, burial, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus Christ we should 1) draw near to God as priests consecrated by the Holy Spirit (10:22), 2) hold fast to our hope in God knowing that God always keeps his promises (10:23), and 3) consider one another and help one another toward a life of love and good works (10:24-25).
